1-2-1 TUTOR

One to one tutoring is not always easy to arrange if you live in a remote location, on a farm or in a small village or township miles from major habitation. Or perhaps you just don't learn well outside of your comfort zone when away from your home and your own computer.

If you have already sailed on Cunard and have attended any of the computer learning sessions that have been offered on board for many years then you could be amongst thousands who have learnt with Mitch about computers, the internet, email, Microsoft Office software or about Adobe Photoshop Elements photo software then you may find it easier to continue or resume with a home tutor.

What we're currently preparing is a suite of learning tools that you can use online at home. You will be able to work online with Mitch in a one to one session so that he can tutor you using your software and your own computer. He will set you up with access to additional learning materials, progress reports and recommendations for future learning tailored to your needs.

This is currently a work in progress and will require you to use a fairly recently purchased computer with a broadband connection. Please use the Contact form to discuss your interests and needs directly with Mitch.

MITCH - THE COMPUTER GURU AT SEA

Graham Mitchell is more commonly known by many Cunard guests, including thousands of past students, as Mitch. Cruise Critic reviews called me Cunard's Computer Guru, most recently written up as "Veteran Graham Mitch Mitchell, known to passengers on four Queens as one of the most competent computer guys at sea".

I have worked for/with Cunard for 22 years since first joining QE2 as Tour and Travel Manager. Threaded through a career in the travel industry starting in the seventies I have had a healthy involvement with Communications and Information Technology starting with installing and teaching users with the earliest IBM PCs. I eventually worked full time in IT where I earned a reputation as the Microsoft Office Guru.

Over many years I've presented hundreds of lectures and seminars for audiences between 50 and 500, and for the last 10 years I have been running hands-on learning either as a one to one trainer or for small groups from 5 to 50 persons. I have also presented a weekly technology show on public radio in South Florida.

By the time Queen Mary 2 was being readied for service I just knew I had to be there, so having put together a totally new computer learning programme, I went on board to implement it; then stayed at sea almost ever since. I have been involved with creating computer learning and maintaining Internet services on QE2, Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria.

Most recently since September 2010 I remain involved with Cunard with their latest iStudy programme installing the new learning centres on Queen Elizabeth and on Queen Mary 2. I am often to be found on board one of Cunard's ships whenever I'm not working or relaxing at home in the Philippines.

NEED A 1-2-1 TUTOR?

"What do I do when I return home and want to ask you more questions?"

"How can I contact you with any follow-up questions or clarification?"

"Can YOU make yourself available to me from my home or office?"

"What do I do when I want to continue computer learning at home? - because I learn so much  more and retain it much better with YOU"

These are some of the frequent comments I've received from participants who have attended computer learning sessions while on board any of the three new ocean liners that make up the Cunard fleet.

Having talked it over with many previous 'students' the lack of tutoring in their neighbourhood makes the possibility of working with a remote, but totally accessible. one to one online tutor appealing.

I intend to continue working with Cunard for a long time yet, but want to offer more assistance to people who have found my methods to work well for them. Over the coming months my team will work on creating a website to solve this need to continue learning at home with someone you feel comfortable with.

So please go ahead and register by using the Contact form for 121Tutor by letting me know a few simple things about you. I'll get back in touch with you, answering your questions and/or responding to your comments.
